It is important to educate the patient on what cardiac remote monitoring is. Here are the key points to present to the patient:
- It is not an emergency system: cardiology remote monitoring is treated during working hours.
- The device works automatically.
- The data arrives on a secure website.
- The maximal distance between the patient and the transmitter should be 2m.
- Transmissions are usually scheduled at night.
- Notify in case of lengthy absences (>15 days), see on a case-by-case basis if it is necessary to take the transmitter with you.
- Give him / her the number of the center and the manufacturer's hotline.
Finally: Verify the patient's contact details (do not hesite to ask him/her for several phone numbers).
